It is Independence Day in the USA and we are an example to no one besides despots and grifters. It is the Fourth of July, our government and its institutions are squarely in the hands of wannabes, charlatans, fakes, phonies, sycophants, and creeps. It is the day in 1776 that the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Second Continental Congress in Philadelphia, to overthrow tyranny, and the Constitutional Republic is slouching towards a grifting autocracy, a fascist dictatorship.
Born in the USA becomes more like Russia with each passing day, which is appropriate because the Russians were instrumental in getting us here, squarely, firmly, in cult mode.
Our cult does our research for us. We are spared from thinking for ourselves. Our worldview is superficial at best, formulated by our state TV and our social media. When challenged, by the "enemies of the people," who are rapists, murders, degenerates, and communist pedophiles, our cult instinciively shrouds itself in Christianity, and manifest destiny. We are the chosen people.
One thing we are spared hearing about on state TV is the reality of life in Russia, a country with a strong leader we admire so much. Someday we will also have a closed Internet like Russia, where news is filtered so children don't learn about high inflation, recessions, high insterest rates, raising prices, unstable power grid, young men enscripted into a phony war in Ukraine, or 950000 Russians who have died fighting to save Putin's face from his embarrassing failed war of agreesion to seize Ukrain and its resources. Or having unemploymnet, bans on public meetins and demonstrations, high rate of suicide, and other unpleasant ness...
In the cult, truth is fluid, independent of science, logic, reasonable discourse, established facts. Our truth is whatever we say at the moment, based on the last information we were given to distract us.
What's changed is that when we repeat a lie or a distraction, (so many to choose from) We don't notice that people have tuned out before we open our mouth. We don't see that they've pre-identified us as annoying, dull, and boring. They grew tired long ago of of pretending that we aren't in a cult.
t doesn't matter. We will not be tricked into discussions involving science, logic, or reasoned discourse. Jesus and MAGA salvation is our touchstone, we don't need truth.
Face it, we were never good thinking for ourselves to begin with; it's great relief to not have to do it! The blissfully certain, unexamined life washes over us.
But sometimes, in our alone moments, or overhearing a snatch of other people's conversation, Curiosity sneaks in. And suddenly we are in a foreign land, a scary place filled with whispers. in the trees, in the hills, in the streets. whispers about being lied to.
In the halls of power, it is whispered, they laugh at our gullible stupidity. They despise us., they call us losers and suckers.
But we don't notice, because on this Independence Day, the cult is a calming garden of pleasantly cognitive dissonance stretching endlessly to heaven. Everything bad they show us on state TV is the work of a global cabal that the cult knows all about and protects us from in ways that are too complex for us to understand.
The cult grooms us, cultivates our disconnectedness with reality, thrives on our gullibility, the smug laziness of the purposely noninformed. lSomeday, the cult may ask us to name others, or to make an ultimate sacrifice for the cult.
Fascist regimes may survive for a decade or two, but always end badly. (unless they transform into military dictatorships – see NK– which is very admired by our dear leader. ) See Italy or Nazi Germany. With the leaders murdered, hunted, dragged through the street. See mussolini, see Ceaucescu.
Hitler being very admired by our dear leader because he required that followers put him first. Before he goes, our permanent leader will demand we sacrifice ourselves for his cult, or he will take away anything we have left, and threaten our families. (achen)
But the end of times for the cult is not a concern while the cult goes about setting things right in this country, while at the same time plundering it and mismanaging the government critical functions, weakening it, making it susceptible to attack internal or external. And when the day arrives when the cult is held accountable for it's grifting and incompetence and scapegoating, we will simply say that we were never in the cult. Becasue the cult haas taught us well that truth is fleeting, whatever is most convenient to believe at the moment.
